BLADES FOR SHARPENING
Follow these simple steps on how to prepare sawmill blades for sharpening to make sure your
blades arrive safely and are ready for service. Proper preparation helps prevent damage, keeps
shipping costs down, and gets your blades back to you faster.

Getting your blades ready is quick and easy. These steps help us sharpen and set your blades
safely and give you the best possible results.
INSPECT THE BLADE
Check for cracks, broken welds, severe kinks, or missing teeth. If the blade is badly damaged, please contact us before sending it.
CLEAN OFF HEAVY DEBRIS
Remove loose sawdust, mud, bark, and heavy pitch buildup. The blades do not have to be spotless, just clean enough to safely handle and process.
COIL THE BLADE SAFELY
Coil the blade with the teeth facing inward and use zip ties or wire to secure the coil. This keeps the blade safe during shipping and protects the teeth.
KEEP BLADES ORGANIZED
If sending several blades, group blades of the same type/TPI together where possible and secure each coil so it stays together during shipping.
PACK THEM SECURELY
Use a sturdy box, protect the teeth and edges, and keep the blades from sliding around in the box. Add packing paper or cardboard between coils if needed.

IMPORTANT: WHAT NOT TO DO
Please don’t attempt to straighten severe kinks, repair cracked blades, or repair broken welds before sending them. This can cause more damage and may make the blade impossible to sharpen.
