Before you send your blades in, take a few minutes to prepare sawmill blades for sharpening by cleaning them, securing the coil, and packing them carefully for shipping or drop-off.
INSPECT YOUR BLADES
Check for cracks, missing teeth, or damage. Let us know about any major issues before sending them in.
CLEAN OFF EXCESS BUILDUP
Remove heavy dirt, bark, sap and debris. A wire brush works Well. You don’t have to make them spotless, just remove excess buildup.
COIL CAREFULLY
Coil each blade with the teeth facing the same direction. Use zip ties to keep the coil secure.
IDENTIFY
(IF NEEDED)
If you have multiple blades, you can label them with your name or size. This helps keep everything organized.
PACK FOR SHIPPING
Place the coiled blades in a sturdy box with padding such as cardboard. Make sure they can’t move around during shipping.
