How Board Feet Are Calculated
Board feet is a standard way to measure the volume of lumber. It helps you estimate
how much usable wood you have for a project.
THE FORMULA
Thickness x Width x Length ÷ 12 x Quantity
EXAMPLE (USING THE VALUES ABOVE)
1 x 8 x 10 ÷ 12 x 5 = 33.33 board feet
